How to make a GST invoice here

  1. Type your business details once. Name, address, state and GSTIN. Add a logo, signature, bank details and UPI ID under "Logo, signature and bank details". Next time, start typing your business name and pick it from the list.
  2. Choose the type. Tax invoice if you are GST-registered and charge GST. Bill of supply if you are a composition dealer or the goods are exempt. Invoice (not GST registered) if you have no GSTIN.
  3. Add the customer. For a registered buyer, type the GSTIN: the state fills in from its first two digits. Saved customers appear as you type their name.
  4. Add items. Description, HSN or SAC code, quantity, unit, rate, discount and GST rate. Items you have used before appear as suggestions, with their last rate.
  5. Check the preview, then Save. Press Print / PDF and choose "Save as PDF" to make a PDF, or Share to send the amount and payment details on WhatsApp.

What it does for you

Your data stays with you

Everything you type is kept in this browser on this device. There is no account and nothing is uploaded to us. Your businesses, customers and items are kept in one place on my.niveshsahayak.in, so every Nivesh Sahayak document tool can suggest them.

Portable like a pen-drive app: save one backup file, carry it on a pen drive (or send it to yourself on WhatsApp), and restore it on any other computer or phone. All your customers, items and invoices come with it. How to move your data.

Keep a backup. If the browser's data is cleared, saved work in it is gone. Open My data (top of the page) and press Save a backup file now and then, or on a computer choose a folder (a OneDrive or Google Drive folder is best) so every save is backed up automatically. The page reminds you after 7 days without a backup.

Guides

Questions people ask

Is this invoice maker really free?

Yes. Making, saving, printing and sharing invoices is free, with no login and no limit on the number of bills. A small line at the bottom of the printed bill says where it was made.

Where are my invoices saved?

In your own browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to us. Save a backup file from My data so your work is safe if the browser is cleared, and use the same file to move your data to another phone or computer.

Can I use my data on another computer?

Yes. Press My data › Save a backup file, copy the file to a pen drive (or send it to yourself), then on the other computer open this site and press My data › Restore from a backup file. Step by step: move your data to another computer or phone.

Does it work out CGST, SGST and IGST?

Yes. When your state and the place of supply are the same, it splits GST into CGST and SGST (UTGST in Union Territories without a legislature). When they differ, it charges IGST. Read CGST, SGST or IGST? for the rule.

Can I make an e-invoice or e-way bill here?

It makes the files for you, free. Under E-invoice and e-way bill, press Download e-invoice file or Download e-way bill file, upload the file on the government portal with your own login, then press Load the portal’s reply file: the invoice then prints with the IRN, Ack No. and QR code. The IRN itself always comes from the government portal. Step by step: E-invoice and e-way bill.

How do I make a PDF?

Press Print / PDF. In the print window, choose Save as PDF as the printer. On Android, choose "Save as PDF" from the printer list; on iPhone, pinch out on the preview and share it.

Is the tax worked out correctly for my goods?

The maths follows the rate you type. The rate itself depends on your goods or service and changes when the GST Council decides. Check it with your accountant or on the official CBIC rate list.
